Bendik
Bendik is actually Silje Halstensen. She plays on everything from organs to guitars, and uses many types of machines, to create a delicious harmony. But what mainly is in focus, is her beautiful angellike voice. As Ida Ramberg in Grus wrote:
"Experiencing Bendik is difficult to explain." Suddenly, and without much notice, she fills the room with the chorus as picked out from an Arab hymn, a Nordic folk tales, or an oriental saga. "
That Bendik is trying to be something for herself, is not at all a secret. With her experimental instruments affiliations, shoved into a kind of popfilter, you get what could be called klangpop, which probably is the best way to describe Bendik. Klangpop, cinnamon and a couple of tablespoons of charm - Bendik.
